I’m A Celebrity voting figures reveal Matt Hancock had no chance of winning

I’m A Celebrity’s final voting figures have been revealed – and Matt Hancock had no chance of winning.

The Tory MP came third on the ITV jungle show, with Hollyoaks star Owen Warner and Lioness Jill Scott beating him by placing second and first respectively. However, voting figures for the final have revealed he had no chance of winning – as there was a huge gap between the votes for the three celebrities, with Jill stealing viewers’ hearts.

ITV have now revealed just how much Jill won by – and how far away Tory MP Hancock was from securing the win.

In total, when there were three left, Jill managed to secure 47.29% of the vote whilst Owen placed second after receiving 30.99% of the vote. He bagged about a third of all votes but Hancock was way behind with just a fifth of the vote at 21.72% of all votes.

When the vote came down to just the two of them – Jill and Owen – it was a more hotly contested competition, with Jill receiving 57.66% of the final vote and Owen bagged himself a total of 42.34%.

Speaking about her time on the show, Jill described it as an “incredible experience”.

“It really was tough at times, but I think that cyclone challenge, it was like being a young kid again on a massive inflatable! I just think I threw myself at everything and just tried to make the most of an incredible experience,” she said.

During his appearance on Good Morning Britain, Mike Tindall opened up about sharing a camp with Matt Hancock.

“When he walked in he was walking in with a lot of preconceptions,” Mike – who is married to Princess Anne’s daughter, Zara Tindall – said: “What Matt did prove as a campmate is that he could win stars. He wasn’t fazed by the trials that he was put up against and when you’re in that environment you need someone that brings back the food, and he did that.”

In 2020, things were much closer as just 1 per cent split winner Giovanna Fletcher and runner up Jordan North whilst in 2021, Emmerdale star Danny Miller won with 55.05% compared to Coronation Street’s Simon Gregson, who got 44.95% of the vote.
